Does Elmore Academy have a chemical dependency component?

Yes, Elmore Academy has a chemical dependency program that is based on an out-patient CD program, and is conducted by a licensed drug and alcohol counselor.  There is no extra fee to participate in the CD program, as it is a component of the behavioral program.

Placement

Elmore Academy is licensed by Minnesota Department of Corrections to provide residential treatment to male and female youth. Youth can be ordered to Elmore Academy through a delinquency court order, CHIPS petition, voluntary placement, or in special circumstances parents can set up a private pay placement overseen by a Human Services worker from their county.

Elmore Does Not Accept:

  • Youth with a history of fire setting.
  • Youth with a Full Scale IQ of less than 70.
  • Sex offenders
  • Actively suicidal youth
  • Youth taking multiple medications, or who have just started a new medication/dosage, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Pregnant females will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
